Trance Preparation for a Transformational Journey.
The three phases in the preparation phase for a generative trance journey are covered in this hypnotic process: (1) centering, (2) setting a goal (positive, concise, resonant), and (3) gathering resources.
After then, the three aspects are hypnotically linked to pave the path for a transforming trip. (Time: 25 minutes) TC09-1
A Self-Hypnosis Process Using the Celtic Cross, Rhythmic Repetition, and Generative Trance
The Celtic Cross method is used in this self-hypnosis procedure to open to a generative field of consciousness.
The self-hypnotic approach of rhythmically repeating awareness phrases (“Now I’m aware that I see/hear/feel”) is then used to explore ways to accept and open beyond what is happening in each moment, resulting in a path of new answers. (2 hours and 27 minutes) TC09-2
In Generative Trance, Self-Suggestions: Spinal Attunement
This trance approach investigates the bodily manifestation of the primary generative thought, An inner presence is awakening.
The process is divided into four stages: (1) developing a generative somatic state (via spinal attunement), (2) identifying and offering self-actualizing suggestions (e.g., self-healing, self-love, self-care), (3) body relaxation (“nothing to do in the body except relax”), and (4) mental release (“nothing to cling to in the mind”).
These four sections are intertwined to form a generative trance exploration.
(3 minutes and 31 seconds) TC09-3
Steps to Prepare for a Generative Trance.
This generative trance process investigates various aspects of entering a generative trance, including aligned focus through the spine, breath coordination, relaxed concentration, opening to the infinite superconscious through the gateways of mindbody centers and multiple charkas, adding intentions, erasing obscuring phenomena, extending realized self into the future, noticing transcendentalsupport, and gratitude for all. (Twenty minutes) TC09-4
Obstacles to Self-Love Transformation
This generative approach investigates how to change negative impediments by nesting wounding settings inside deeper contexts of wholeness and healing.
This is a tantric technique of transformative healing that involves elevating a pattern from lower to higher realms of consciousness. (It takes 21 minutes) TC09-5
In Generative Trance, Ideomotor Signals.
In generative trance, learn how to build ideo-motor signal connections with your creative unconscious.
Suggestions for accepting the unconscious bodymind’s insight and wisdom.
(Twenty minutes) TC09-6
The five attentional changes in generative trance (w/ partner): Spirit is awakening.
This generative trance method was performed with workshop partners, but it may also be performed with an imagined partner.
The generative idea of “spirit is waking up” is realized through “the five attentions” of generative trance: (1) somatic centering (“opening the channel,” artistic awareness, and feeling at home), (2) softening and releasing the muscle body (to open to the weightless “spirit body” or “chi body,” (3) radiant awareness (with open eyes), beyond problem, person, or other content; (4) energetic entrainment with a “other,” and (5) erasing
A really effective practice. (3 hours and 37 minutes) TC09-7
Introducing Oneself to the World Through the Center
This generative trance method first develops the four directions of the Celtic Cross in order to channel Spirit through the “fifth direction” of the center opening into the world, as Jung referred to it.
This progresses into a rhythmic dance of bringing the Self into the World (“nner to outer”) and the World into the Self (“outer to inner”).
(It takes 22 minutes) TC09-8
Integrating Classical and Quantum Consciousness Fields
This brief generating trance method walks the listener through feeling and integrating the conscious mind’s knowledge with the creative unconscious’s awareness, before employing the deeper unified space to set and achieve a generative purpose. (Eleven minutes) TC09-9
Consciousness is Awakening Through You: The Center as a Gateway to Transformation
The method begins with “therapeutic detachment” from the “ego performance self’s” core components: body, mind, history, feelings, culture, and family.
The awareness of the evolutionary arc of cosmic consciousness is suggested, and the center is studied as a pathway to connect with that arc.
You may release and modify negative patterns by tuning into that primary channel. (2 hours and 24 minutes) TC09-10
A Quantum Field for Integrating and Creativity: The Generative Somatic Mind
The generative somatic mind is emphasized in this trance as a single field of subtle awareness with boundless creative potential.
The meditation then looks at how the polarities of a goal and its obstacle/problem may be seen as two sides of a deeper transformative union, allowing you to “make love, not war” within the dance of awareness.
(Duration: 19 minutes) TC09-11
Opening the Day: Connecting Below and Beyond the Observer’s Ego
This short meditational trance encourages a sensuous self-awareness that is apart from the regular ego-observer and rests in a deeper field of knowing.
This higher intellect may soothe, cleanse, eliminate weariness, and prepare you for a fantastic day.
(1 hour and 14 minutes) TC09-12
Method of Three Point Attention for Generative Trance.
The three point focus approach takes the listener through the four phases of generating trance in this process:
(1) preparation (center, intention, and resources), (2) attentional shift, (3) transformational change, and (4) return to the ordinary world
(29 minutes) 2009-13 recording
Stephen Gilligan, Ph.D., is a licensed Psychologist in Encinitas, California.
Stephen was among the students that congregated around the NLP founders at U.C. Santa Cruz from 1974 and 1977.
His professors and mentors were Milton Erickson and Gregory Bateson.
Stephen became one of the foremost professors and practitioners of Ericksonian hypnosis after getting his doctorate in psychology from Stanford University.
Motivated by his experiences as a therapist and teacher, as well as his own journey, he created a new radical awakening practice that included Ericksonian psychotherapy, Aikido, Buddhism, meditation, and performance arts.
