“Nicotine is as addictive as heroin,” they claim, and research shows that hypnosis is one of the most effective therapies for nicotine addiction. So, why isn’t hypnosis utilized more commonly in the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction?
In this two-day seminar, you will learn from two of the nation’s foremost authorities on the use of hypnosis methods for ending the cycle of addiction, stopping compulsive behavior, and controlling physical withdrawal using hypnotic methods of intervention from two of the nation’s foremost authorities. Scott and Richard have worked on treatment teams before and will present an integrated approach to integrating hypnotic approaches in standard counseling and therapy.
Consider the following statistics:
One out of every eight Americans has a major alcohol or drug problem.
Approximately 27 million Americans use illegal substances on a daily basis or are “heavy drinkers.” Nearly 16 million of them are projected to require emergency care.
The projected yearly direct cost of drug misuse to our society is more than $250 billion dollars.
And consider the following headlines from peer-reviewed journals:
81 percent said they had quit smoking after hypnosis (Texas A&M University)
Hypnosis helps significantly more methadone addicts quit. 94 percent remained drug-free (From the American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis.)
For at least a one-year follow-up, hypnosis has a 77 percent effectiveness rate (American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis)
Addictions can be successfully treated using hypnosis. (From the American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis.)
You may earn 12 hours of Approved Continuing Education and study particular relapse prevention, detoxification, and behavioral modification techniques. This two-day workshop will give hypnotic scripts, lectures, notes, and evaluation tools for use in both hypnotherapy and counseling contexts.
Professionals attending this conference will learn how to incorporate hypnosis into different therapeutic methods, including (but not limited to) 12-step programs. This conference will not teach a “this over that” approach to addiction, but rather a comprehensive approach that integrates hypnosis, NLP, spirituality, and medically based remedies.
Professionals attending this conference will learn how to:
Use trance to help you recover from alcohol and drug addiction.
Incorporate NLP patterns into effective change treatment with clients who are addicted to drugs or alcohol.
Work as a hypnotist in private practice or integrate these skills into work with a therapeutic team in inpatient or outpatient settings.
This session will open professional doors for you and empower you to assist clients suffering from a variety of addictions in finding recovery, even if they have failed standard treatment or 12-step programs. Consider this training a necessary resource for becoming the finest therapist possible in the field of addiction intervention.
This program covers both alternatives to the prevailing medical and 12-step model as well as how to function within it. Rather than a single method that limits customer alternatives, our goal is to determine what works for each client.
We will look at theories of behavioral self-control and approaches for lowering rather than eliminating drug or alcohol usage. In our search of customer solutions, we will not shy away from the contentious, preferring instead to investigate the options that may benefit each individual client.
Scott Sandland, Ch.t. works full-time as a hypnotherapist in both inpatient and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment programs. He is best recognized as the developer of HypnoThoughts.com, but he is also noted for his ability to integrate hypnosis into established medical methods of patient care. He has been a trailblazer in the field of drug and alcohol intervention as a hypnotic member of interdisciplinary treatment teams.
Dr. Richard Nongard is a certified psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience in addiction therapy and treatment. His contextualized approach rejects one-size-fits-all treatment and instead tries to mix hypnosis and NLP to produce client-centered techniques that succeed in addiction recovery. He has written multiple textbooks on counseling and clinical hypnotherapy.
The session will be place in the brand new HPTI Conference and Therapy Center in Newport Beach, California. You will get the opportunity to visit actual offices and meet the directors and workers. Newport Beach, CA 92660, 1501 Westcliff.
