Street Fighting by Kali Sikaran (Volume 2) Kali Sikaran is a Filipino martial arts system founded by Jeff Espinous and Johan, and it is one of the International Kali Arnis Eskrima Federation’s main styles. Kali art has its origins in ancient Filipino history, dating back to before the Majapahit Empire ruled South East Asia in the 5th and 6th centuries. During the Spaniards’ attempts to conquer the islands, the art was used against them. The famous Ferdinand Magellan was defeated by the national hero and ancestor of today’s arts, Lapu Lapu. Punong Guro Jeff Espinous and Punong Johan Skalberg created and founded the International Kali Sikaran Association. Kali Sikaran has its origins in Philippine and Southeast Asian martial arts. Kali Sikaran’s training concepts are unique to the system. Panantukan (Filipino Boxing), Sikaran (Filipino Kick Boxing), Stickfighting, Daga (Knife Fighting Training), Kadena De Mano (Close Quarters Range), and Dumog are the foundations for them (Grappling). These ideas are woven together in Kali Sikaran to form a complete and highly effective fighting system. Any enhancement to one aspect of the system will hasten change and immediately benefit another. The practitioner will develop speed, coordination, stamina, strength, and reflexes that support self-defense and fighting skills through a combination of empty hand training and weapons training. The Kali Sikaran practitioner has been trained to adapt to any situation. Language-English
