Moy Yat, who was seldom far from Yip Man’s side, eventually turned into one of his best students.
Moy Yat arrived in the United States in 1973 and began teaching kung fu in New York City.
Moy Yat followed his sifuexample and taught his own pupils using the same technique.
He instilled in his students the value of Kung Fu Life,†the application of Ving Tsun concepts in everyday life.
He was always of the opinion that Ving Tsun Kung Fu is best learnt outside of the classroom.
Ving Tsun, as taught by Yip Man, is learnt in this manner.
Master Moy Yat lived his life in this manner until his death, devoting his time living and teaching Ving Tsun via Kung Fu Life.
Moy Yat is a well-known kung fu instructor and skilled artist.
His paintings, calligraphy, and stone carvings may be found throughout his Chinatown school, as well as at art events hosted across the city on a regular basis.
He carved portions of the Wing Chun Kuit Kuit into stone as well.
The Moy Yat Kung Fu Family is large, with pupils all over the world propagating the technique of Ving Tsun.
His students are teaching Ving Tsun in their own schools across the United States and around the world, including schools in Canada, Brazil, and Mexico.
