Legal technology is a two-edged sword; it may either create or prevent misconduct! The majority of the leading causes of malpractice and grievance concerns are connected to organization, communication, and law firm administration. As a result, they are mostly avoidable. How can you effectively disclose sensitive information to clients? How should you discuss papers with opposing counsel? How should court documents be redacted? When utilized correctly, technology can help with all of these issues. Learn how to avoid frequent mistakes while leveraging technology by incorporating malpractice avoidance measures into your workflow. This lecture addresses these themes and more, as well as the lawyer’s responsibility under ABA Model Rules 1.1, 1.6, 5.1, 5.2, and 5.3 for correct understanding and use of these technologies.
