What Other People Are Saying About “Actual Combat Techniques of Old Styled Taichi 11 DVDs (6 Series)- By Yuan Zhan Guo”
“Honesty and Tradition: Practical Insight for Taichi Combat (Lee Style)” Rob F. from Romania It is quite difficult to obtain genuine advise on the martial application of Tai Chi, as most extant sources are affected by other systems or provide very restricted aspects after tons of Taolu forms….
I appreciate this Yuan Z. Guo, who appears a little tough in the video but is extremely gentle when it comes to fighting, but this person provides us the appropriate principles to bear in mind when we talk about practical fighting from Taichi techniques.
Circle theory and triangle theory are fine; they won’t lead us through the whole Geometry course, but… for the immediate power application, this might be more beneficial than the well-known silk reeling anecdote!!!
Can you really erupt with? I’m not sure, but the few joint locking possibilities presented are really intriguing. These pirated DVDs are now my source of inspiration… Just my own experience.
” Obtain excellent recommendations for Tai Chi combat movies!!!”
Tours by Cedric S. (France)
I am not a Chen style lover, but this collection pleasantly impressed me with its straightforward and comprehensive explanations for anybody wishing to learn some combat techniques from Tai Chi; we are not here to “relax,” “Dantian movement,” or “Silk Reeling”… Though it mentions circling, battle is clearly the core notion portrayed by all Taichi maneuvers in this collection.
And, well… you’ll see why (traditional) Chinese professionals may be snobbish when they utilize unconventional fighting Taichi tactics to dominate and overcome more powerful opponents.
If it’s not your tea cup, simply keep moving slowly or standing until you’re in a true combat situation, and then… maybe you’ll think that these explanations will keep you from getting kicked…
Each series is detailed in “Actual Combat Techniques of Old Styled Taichi” 11 DVDs (6 Series)- By Yuan Zhan Guo……
Taichi Agile (Huling) Fist (Series 1)
see the extract
Taichi Agile Fist is a traditional Chinese boxing method from Wen County in Henan Province. Its second moniker comes from the unique fighting abilities of its practitioners: “Esoteric Taichi Boxing.”
The first routine called Taichi Agile Fist includes tremendous footwork and elusive/lightning-fast movement. Each movement is circular and entices its opponent. The circle becomes a triangle. Each movement corresponds to the triangle theory, allowing full play to its power, according to the lever principle. This triangle hypothesis contains three inner angles and three outside angles, each of which blocks an acupoint (vital point). The highest degree of Tai Chi Chuan martial art is the practice of vital points (Dimmak).

Its basic idea may be defined as clutching one end of a cudgel and striking with the other. Getting out of a precarious position and winning the fight relatively instantly. It combines kicking, striking, wrestling, and capturing methods. It is stated that through mastering the First and Second Routines, the practitioner would eventually experience the whole perception of the Universe inside oneself.

The third routine is known as Taichi soft punching, and it involves the training of vital energy. The steps are similar to cat walking, while the actions are similar to laddering. Control your breathing like a thread passing through a pinhole and exert force like iron puddling. Overall, it gives the image of supple and quick motions, fluid breathing, and the union of the world and man. It’s an excellent exercise for people who have a somewhat weak body.
