Alban Balliu, UC’s most senior instructor outside of Lee Morrison, is introduced in this program.
Alban has been with Lee from the beginning of UC and is a member of the First Generation of UC Instructors.
He has a diverse history in combative training, having trained with virtually everyone in the profession worth mentioning.
He’s pressure tested with the best of them and gained plenty of ‘real’ street experience over the years.
Alban is also a skilled strength athlete and a competitive wrestler in both free-style and Greco Roman.
His understanding of this subject is vast, both as a competitor and from a conditioning one.
Alban recognizes that all ways of grappling ‘in the street’ are strictly classified as secondary tools, with IMPACT being the primary option on the street if avoidance and escape are no longer viable options.
However, when combatively coupled with gross motor IMPACT and explosive takedowns from a pavement standpoint, both Free-style and Greco possess nuggets of absolute treasure.
I provided Alban my time and directions to effective Combative training as far as my understanding would allow, then I urged him to cross-train and seek traits from other ways without the clutter of accumulation, as I do with all of my top pupils.
His preferred approach was strength training and’real’ wrestling, seeking out experts with firsthand experience of this great close quarter mainstay – from top Bulgarian trainers and athletes like Boris Sabotinov to UK SDF hero Dave Turton.
This software is not a replacement for strategy; rather, it serves as a reminder that if the ATTITUDE is correct, then extra notions have a home within the boundaries of Combative functioning!
