Dr. Brady completed medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) before beginning his residency in internal medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU). He was a Navy Commander at the National Institute of Health for two years. Following his residency in oncology at the University of Minnesota, he spent 12 years in private practice in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Brady was instrumental in the development of interdisciplinary oncology programs. The initiatives aimed to improve cancer patient care by bringing together all physicians involved in the patient’s treatment to create a single, coherent, and coordinated plan of care for the patient. This search took him to hospital systems in Denver, Fort Worth, and Detroit suburbs. Following his youngest daughter’s (of four) high school graduation, he and his wife relocated to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to family. From 2002 until 2015, he had a hematology/oncology private practice in Yakima, while also continuing his enthusiasm for teaching by advising medical, nursing, and physician assistant students.
American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, and Washington State Medical Society are among the professional associations. He is an American College of Physicians Fellow.
