Carlos Salzedo’s Daily Dozen (1927) and Conditioning Exercises (1954) remain standards for any harpist. This step by step video course covers each exercise, – demontrations on their execution, and detailed information. The Daily Dozen are wonderful for getting comfortable – oscillation between thumb and each of the fingers, for stretching, and for developing good articulation. The Conditioning Exercises develop strength, articulation, and independence of the fingers. Both sets are wonderful warm-ups, and are very easy to learn and make part of an efficient personalized daily routine which covers a broad range of technical movements. Although written for pedal harp, they are easily adaptable to lever harp.

Alice Giles

Alice Giles is one of the world’s leading harpists, and also a dedicated and inspiring teacher. Winner of the prestigious 8th Israel International Harp Contest, she performs extensively as soloist and gives master-classes word-wide. Australian born, she studied in the US and spent many years living in Germany before returning to her roots, where she lives in rural New South Wales. Always ready for an adventure she has even performed on Mawson Station in Antarctica. She is Director of the Seven Harp Ensemble and Artistic Director of the non-profit company Harp Centre Australia.
