Cooking, in my opinion, is about employing all of your senses. And you want to be able to smell and taste the meal, as well as look at it, touch it, and even listen to it. I want you to learn to think about food, cooking, and eating in new ways. You will be liberated from recipes and ingredient lists once you understand how to distinguish for yourself, and you will know how it feels to cook in this way, full of excitement, discovery, and even delight. This type of cuisine is more accessible than you may believe. Because starting with extremely nice ingredients means you don’t have to do anything to them. It’s believing that you can accomplish it, and I believe I can help you believe. I wanted to hold this Masterclass in my own kitchen and house so you could get a flavor of how I live. I’d like to introduce you to my daughter, Fanny, who grew up in this kitchen and is a fantastic cook. I’ll take you to Chez Panisse, my home garden, the farmer’s market, and even the Edible Schoolyard Project. I feel that if you start cooking this manner, it will completely transform your life. Alice Waters pioneered the farm-to-table movement in the United States. Her use of local, organic foods created a movement and garnered her the James Beard Award for Outstanding Chef when she opened the famed restaurant Chez Panisse.
