What You’ll Learn in These 7 Weeks
The course meets on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. Pacific.
Anand will guide you through the fundamental spiritual skills and competencies you’ll need to successfully experience deeper relationships with self, deeper relationships with others, and natural connection with the Divine through understanding of subtler aspects of yogic teachings during this 7-week transformational intensive.
Each weekly, LIVE contemplation and training session will build on the previous one to provide you a thorough, holistic grasp of the practices, tools, and concepts you’ll need to continue your growing yoga practice.
Module 1: The Nature of Self Understanding and Mastery (July 19)
Our traditional education system is built on comprehending the world. The self, however, is the central player in the entire drama of life. It is the experiencer, not the experience, that is important. As a result, realizing oneself is the beginning of true spiritual life. As you advance in your self-realization, you get a greater understanding of life.
This module will teach you:
Discover the three diverse yogic manifestations of self: Brahman (Higher Self), Jiva (Timebound Self), and Ahamkara (Ego)
Learn about the functions and interactions of these three self-expressions.
Differentiate between the Ego and the Self.
Align the Self more clearly with the everlasting Higher Self’s real power.
Align the Self with the awareness of how to anchor yourself in timelessness while remaining in time.
Module 2: The Nature and Function of Manifest Reality (July 26)
Exploring yogic principles allows us to perceive our surroundings in a much more cohesive manner. You’ll learn how to live in better harmony with natural intelligence and how to achieve more and bigger potential in your earthly trip on this planet. You’ll also learn how to access endless resources and make a good difference in your everyday life and in the globe.
This module will teach you:
Learn about the nature of reality via yogic teachings.
Learn about the purpose of manifest reality and how to live intentionally.
Recognize how our awareness influences reality and vice versa.
Examine how our mind influences reality and vice versa.
Learn how to connect our life with nature’s intellect while avoiding imposing our restricted worldview on nature.
Investigate intuitive intelligence, which is the act of knowing without knowing.
Understand how to get out of your own way.
Recognize why you exist in time yet belong to eternity.
Wisdom, Love, Stillness, and Radical Action (Module 3)
Path Unification (August 2)
Exploring basic yogic techniques helps overall growth. In our spiritual practice, we frequently prioritize one faculty above another, resulting in an imbalance. We’ll discuss practice in a broader sense so that you might experience comprehensive progress on your spiritual path without neglecting any area of your existence. You’ll see how yoga can fill every aspect of your life with heavenly light, because nothing is not yoga.
This module will teach you:
Investigate how yoga connects the pathways of knowledge, love, silence, and radical action, and how to apply these four paths to enhance your experience.
Discover the true essence of yoga as performed by spiritualized creatures living in the Himalayas.
Recognize yoga’s importance as an evolving practice in all aspects of life and how it may bring more joy and clarity into our lives.
Dispel any misunderstandings regarding the distinction between yoga paths.
Recognize that for yoga to be relevant, it must include all paths.
Module 4: Shiva and Shakti Balance
Polarity Unification (August 9)
The human mind is programmed to learn through comparison, which leads to separation and boundaries. When there is no problem, we have a tendency to invent one in our minds and then try to fix it in our minds. We’ll look at how your mind creates this trap. As you begin to move outside of your consciousness, a natural observation occurs, and you realize the connection between the masculine and feminine, Shiva and Shakti. What appears to be diametrically opposed in the mind is actually complementary, a component of the same. We’ll also look into the significance and possibilities of Kundalini Shakti, the holy infinite being.
This module will teach you:
Learn how to balance the sword and the lotus, stillness and dynamism, masculine and feminine – and when to use each of them.
Learn about the divine male and divine feminine from a yogic perspective.
Learn how to balance the sacred male and feminine energies inside the soul.
Integrate and employ the holy masculine and feminine in ways that allow you to reach their full potential.
Recognize that the holy masculine and feminine are not diametrically opposed, but rather complimentary elements of ourselves.
Investigate how to take spontaneous action – to go beyond the script.
Module 5: Transitioning from Karma to Dharma
Continuously Changing, Evolutionary Action (August 16)
Exploring the fundamental nature of karma, as well as how the three degrees of karmic conditioning limit us, can assist us in identifying and moving beyond karmic conditioning to more evolutionary life. Karma is action that leads to enslavement. Kriya is an evolutionary action that leads to growth. Dharma is expanded living – living with a feeling of purpose and in harmony with divine destiny. You will go from karma (narrowness) to dharma (expansion).
Life under the thrall of karma becomes an endless loop. A real yogi shifts from linear to vertical time, from the positionality of living as an outcome to living as the cause. A crucial part of yoga is understanding the nature and dimensions of time (past, present, and future) and how they interact with karma.
This module will teach you:
Determine how fear keeps us locked inside karma.
Recognize the conditioning that holds us back.
Investigate how to progress from karma to dharma using kriya.
Change your focus from attachment/narrowness to expansiveness/purposeful life.
Recognize the continuity of evolutionary practice.
Examine each stage of consciousness and its associated shadows, as well as how to use kriya to overcome them.
Module 6: Finding the Guru, the Sangha, and the Rebel Within and Without (August 23)
The term “guru” is fraught with ambiguity. Finding a guru is an important part of spiritual development on the yogic path. We’ll look at what the term “guru” means, the significance of a living guru, and how to connect with the formless guru — the teacher both within and without.
We’ll look at how to form sacred relationships, how to heal society as a whole, and how to transition from cultural to spiritual sangha. It is critical to recognize your own radical responsibility, as well as how the individual is the most important factor in the holy trinity. If we want to walk the spiritual path, we must connect with our inner rebel. All spiritual beings are, in the end, rebellious.
This module will teach you:
Shed light on the yogic understanding of a guru’s role and purpose.
Discover how to create sacred relationships and a sacred family by identifying and uniting with the guru within and without.
Understand radical individual responsibility
Identify the pitfalls/traps of the mind and how to transcend them
Master the art of aloneness in your role as a spiritual warrior
Module 7: The Continuity of Awareness
Uniting the State, the Practice, the Experience of Yoga (August 30) (August 30)
Our mind and ego tend to hijack our spiritual path and direct us to use our spiritual practices as mere diversions from our divine nature. We’ll explore the now — not the clock now — but the eternal now which includes all dimensions of time. A true yogi doesn’t strive for realization at some future time but is always fully present in the here and now.
People who come to the spiritual path often have great experiences in the beginning but then they hit a plateau or develop a “spiritual ego.” This waiting pattern must be avoided so our life can be a continuous expression of evolution. Individuals must continue to evolve like the universe, which is constantly expanding, for this is the nature of nature. And this is the experience of radical aliveness.
This module will teach you:
Identify what you’re really seeking so you can move from seeker to discoverer
Move from “then” to “now”
Understand how to unite all the different aspects of a spiritual practice
See why a spiritual practice should not be used as a decoy for waiting, and how you can “get out of the waiting room”
Explore how to experience radical aliveness — liberation from fear, guilt and worry
Realize that the goal and the path are one
