In the 1980s, when I worked in the Department of Speech Pathology at the University Clinic in Heidelberg, Germany, most patients with voice abnormalities expected to get medical therapy. But many people resisted attempts to help them on a psychological level. As a result of repeatedly meeting with such opposition, I’ve developed a highly roundabout method of self-hypnosis instruction (which actually is a trance induction). Group treatment and adapting the standard method to meet the needs of patients with varying presentations will also be covered.
