Steven C. Hayes, Ph.D. Clinical Psychology, West Virginia University, Morgantown, is a University of Nevada Foundation Professor of Psychology. He is known for his work on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a widely used and researched method of psychological and behavioral intervention, and Relational Frame Theory, a comprehensive empirical research program on human language and cognition. He is the author of 44 books and nearly 600 scientific articles. Dr. Hayes has earned the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy’s Lifetime Achievement Award and is one of the world’s most quoted psychologists.

JAMES PROCHASKA, PhD, is the Director of the Cancer Prevention Research Center at the University of Rhode Island and a Professor of Clinical and Health Psychology. He has written over 300 articles and three books, including Changing for Good, Systems of Psychotherapy, and The Transtheoretical Approach. He is well known as the creator of the stage model of behavior modification. He is the main investigator on more than $60 million in research funding for cancer and other chronic illnesses prevention. Dr. Prochaska has received multiple accolades, including the American Psychology Society’s Top Five Most Cited Authors in Psychology, an Innovator’s Award from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the American Cancer Society’s Medal of Honor for Clinical Research.
