Jon Douglas Carlson, Ed.D., Psy.D., was an Adlerian Psychology Distinguished Professor, educator-scholar, psychologist, athlete, husband, and father.
On November 2, 1945, Jon Douglas Carlson was born in Elgin, Illinois. Jon was a proud, active father of five children who had been married to the love of his life for 50 years. He was a prolific scholar, educator, college professor, psychologist, competitive athlete, and community champion. In 1971, he received his first doctorate, an Ed.D. in Counseling and Guidance from Wayne State University, and in 1990, he received his second doctorate, a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Adler University (previously the Adler School of Professional Psychology).
Jon was a Fellow and Distinguished Psychologist of the American Psychological Association (APA); a Lifetime Contribution awardee of the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology (NASAP); and an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), American Orthopsychiatric Association, International Academy of Family Psychology (IAFP), and Wisconsin Psychology Association (WPA). He garnered multiple accolades for his professional work and held national and state leadership roles in counseling and psychology.

Since its inception in 1975 by John Grinder and Richard Bandler, Robert Dilts has been a creator, author, teacher, and consultant in the area of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), a model of human behavior, learning, and communication. Robert was a long-time student and collaborator of Grinder and Bandler, and he also studied with Milton H. Erickson, M.D., and Gregory Bateson.

Stephen Gilligan, Ph.D., works as a Psychologist in Encinitas, California. He was one of the first NLP students at UC Santa Cruz, and his mentors were Milton Erickson and Gregory Bateson. He became one of the foremost professors and practitioners of Ericksonian hypnosis after getting his doctorate in psychology from Stanford University. This work evolved into his original ideas of Self-Relations and Generative Self, and eventually into Generative Coaching (in partnership with Robert Dilts). These many traditions have all been updated and incorporated into the current Generative Change Work, which includes Generative Coaching, Generative Psychotherapy, Generative Trance, Hero’s Journey, and Systemic Change work.

Dr. Peter Levine 32 related lectures and goodsPeter A. Levine, PhD, is a medical biophysicist and a psychologist. He created Somatic Experiencing®, a naturalistic, body-awareness approach to trauma treatment, and founded the Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Institute, which offers SETM trainings all over the world and in diverse indigenous cultures. Dr. Levine’s other accomplishments include serving as a stress consultant for NASA during the development of the space shuttle project and as a consultant to Sandia Labs during their 2002 study on terrorism prevention commissioned by the Department of Homeland Security. Dr. Levine was a member of the American Psychological Association’s Task Force: Psychologists for Social Responsibility, which developed solutions to large-scale disasters and ethno-political violence. In Wickenburg, Arizona, he is a Senior Fellow and consultant at The Meadows Addiction and Trauma Treatment Center.
