Some organizations routinely generate superior therapeutic outcomes. Higher-performing agencies gain from enhanced accountability, better resource management, shorter treatment duration, lower client dropout, and higher staff retention. Participants in this program will first learn about significant research results that serve as the foundation for long-term “cultures of excellence.” Following that, specific tactics will be presented, such as brief and time-sensitive treatments, client feedback, and monitoring of individual and program outcomes.

Bob Bertolino is a Rehabilitation Counseling professor at Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri, where he has been teaching since 2001. He has taught a range of graduate-level courses in counseling, health professions, and psychology. Bob is also the Senior Clinical Advisor at Teens In Need (YIN), Inc., an eastern Missouri community-based non-profit organization that assists children, youth, and families. He has also been a member of the YIN Executive Management Team for the past 26 years. He monitors clinical results and provides training, advice, and clinical supervision in his function. He also works as a Senior Associate at the International Center for Clinical Excellence (ICCE). He was part of a team led by Dr. Scott D Miller that worked to have Feedback-Informed Treatment (FIT) approved as an evidence-based treatment (EBP) by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices lists FIT as an EBP (NREPP).
