Clinicians are realizing that mindfulness techniques can illuminate and invigorate their lives both within and outside of the therapy hour with zeal. These strategies offer a lot of potential for personal growth and as a strong way to improve almost any type of psychotherapy. But, what exactly is mindfulness-informed therapy? This presentation, utilizing audience volunteers, will show how mindfulness activities and the insights gained from them might guide therapy.
Objectives of Education:
Describe the three fundamental abilities that mindfulness practices build.
List some of the clinical decisions that go into mindfulness-based therapy.

Ronald Siegel, PsyD, Professor 20 related lectures and goods
Ronald D. Siegel, PsyD, is a part-time Assistant Professor of Psychology at Harvard Medical School, where he has been teaching for over 30 years. He has been practicing mindfulness meditation for many years and is a member of the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy’s board of directors and faculty.
Dr. Siegel lectures globally on mindfulness, psychotherapy, and mind-body treatment, has worked in community mental health for many years with inner-city children and families, and has a private practice in Lincoln, Massachusetts. He is the coauthor of Back Sense: A Revolutionary Approach to Breaking the Cycle of Chronic Back Pain, which combines Western and Eastern approaches to treating chronic back pain, the coeditor of the acclaimed professional books Mindfulness and Psychotherapy and Wisdom and Compassion in Psychotherapy: Deepening Mindfulness in Clinical Practice, and the coauthor of the new professional text, Sitting Together: Essential Skills for Mindfulness-based Psychotherapy.
