This session focuses on the particular application of cognitive-behavioral methods as a supplement to the different therapeutic modalities available in family therapy. It provides a basic review of cognitive-behavioral therapy theories, particularly as they apply to families. Participants will gain firsthand knowledge of approaches and strategies for working with challenging families, as well as how to integrate these strategies into their individual forms of therapy. There will be role-playing and case studies. Following that, there will be a question and answer session.
Objectives of Education:
To list two cognitive-behavioral methods for use with families.
To outline two situations in which cognitive-behavioral techniques are ineffective for family treatment.*Content and confidentiality may be modified during sessions*
