Now that you understand the neuropsychology of attachment, how will you use it in a session where one partner is yelling at the other for abandoning him/her, while the other is seeking to find refuge beneath the coach? Learn how to examine ancient brain circuitry around attachment and make new connections using an interactive technique. As part of the treatment, we will employ mindfulness and the present moment to slow things down and retrain the brain.
Education Objectives:
Learn how to use mindfulness to assist couples in working through attachment issues.
Simple methods for triggering and investigating attachment organization are given.*During sessions, content and confidentiality may be altered*

Rob Fisher, MFT, is a psychotherapist in Mill Valley who works with individuals, couples, and families. He is also a consultant and CAMFT-certified supervisor. He is an adjunct professor at JFK University, where he conducts marriage and family therapy workshops and case consultation seminars, and he is a co-developer of the Certificate Program in Mindfulness and Compassion for Psychotherapists offered by CIIS.
