Judd was a psychiatry adjunct professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, and the Franz Alexander Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Southern California School of Medicine. He has been a practicing physician for for 50 years, after graduating from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1933. He is a previous president of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Psychoanalysis, and the Group for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis and Psychiatry. He has received the American College of Psychiatrists’ Bowis Award for Outstanding Achievements in Leadership in the Field of Psychiatry and the American Psychiatric Association’s Founders Award. Dr. Marmor served on 14 journal editorial boards. He wrote five novels and co-wrote one. He has authored or co-authored over 300 scholarly articles.
