Woltemade Hartman, PhD, works as a clinical psychologist in Pretoria, South Africa. He is a former member of the Health Professions Council of South Africa’s Board of Psychology and the Founding Director of the Milton H. Erickson Institute of South Africa. He received the International Society of Hypnosis’ 2009 Jay Haley Early Career Award for Innovative Contributions to Hypnosis.

He is a member of the International Society of Hypnosis ISH Board of Directors and a former President of the Milton Erickson Society of Clinical Hypnosis Germany (1996-2003).
