Therapists frequently overlook how readily tales reach clients’ hearts, how much they offer, educate, and heal. This course will educate participants how to create successful therapy stories based on their own life experiences, as well as how to incorporate these tales into client treatment.
Objectives of Education:
Describe three elements of a psychotherapy tale.
Create a psychotherapy tale based on a given circumstance.

Betty Alice Erickson, MS, LPC, LMFT, is the middle daughter of Dr. Milton H. Erickson and a psychotherapist in Dallas for over 20 years. She is a worldwide hypnosis teacher, specializing in her father’s conversational technique. Betty Alice has written articles, chapters, and books on the topic.

For forty years, Eric Greenleaf, PhD, has treated patients, taught professionals, spoken on, and written about hypnotherapy. Milton Erickson, MD, selected Eric to win the inaugural Milton H. Erickson Award for Scientific Excellence in Hypnosis Writing. Eric works in Albany, California, and is the director of the Milton H. Erickson Institute of the Bay Area, a group of certified mental health professionals that provide hypnotic psychotherapy to the San Francisco Bay Area region.
Eric Greenleaf, Ph.D., has been treating, training, presenting, and writing about hypnotherapy for forty years as the director and founder of the Milton H. Erickson Institute of the Bay Area. In 2000, he published The Problem of Evil: Ancient Dilemmas and Modern Therapy. Dr. Greenleaf’s distinct approach and considerable knowledge in the use of hypnosis as a tool for improving lives and overcoming problems is something that must be experienced to be fully appreciated.
