Families dealing with an anxious kid may unwittingly “assist” their child by doing things that exacerbate anxiety. This course will provide doctors with tools that will show parents and children how to detect and stop the cognitive, behavioral, and physiological patterns of anxiety in children from the first session.
Objectives of Education:
Name three cognitive tendencies that contribute to children’s anxiousness.
Describe four ways that parents may use to help their children cope with anxiety.*Content and confidentiality may be modified during sessions*

Lynn Lyons, LICSW, is a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist who lives and works in Concord, New Hampshire. Lynn has specialized in the treatment of anxiety problems in adults and children for the past 26 years. Lynn obtained her BA in English from Williams College in 1987, her Masters in Social Work from Boston University in 1990, and she has been studying clinical hypnosis and strategic therapy intensively since 1993.
