Milton Erickson’s skill, like much that is profoundly ingrained and emerging in our psyches, sometimes defies easy explanation. Words may be descriptive, but they fall short of conveying the beautiful complexities of his art. With currents this deep, it took years for Jeff Zeig, one of Erickson’s pupils, to coin the powerful word “Limbic Communication” to characterize that critical ingredient that supports Erickson’s art and creativity, as well as all successful experiential treatment.

This course will introduce you to the notion of limbic communication, explain why it is important in Ericksonian Hypnosis, and provide you with a framework for strengthening your talents in this area. You will learn how to communicate with your customers’ limbic brains rather than their neocortex through lecture and associated experiential activities, improving outcomes and facilitating transformation.

 

Objectives of Education:

Show that you grasp the distinction between cortical and limbic communication.
Give two distinct approaches to interacting with the limbic system of a client.
