DescriptionProfessionals working in early childhood (birth to age 5) are undoubtedly aware of the therapeutic potential of play, but developing successful play-based therapy sessions for this age group can be difficult. It necessitates imagination, adaptability, and an awareness of how play affects development. Because young children learn best via relevant and meaningful play, rather than direct teaching, drill work, or flash cards, therapy can become inflexible and unengaging. Play-based treatment, on the other hand, demands play with a goal, imaginatively integrating methods into naturally occurring experiences in order to optimize outcomes. Learn how to promote cognitive, verbal, physical, and social-emotional development via child-directed, adult-guided play experiences in this highly entertaining DVD for working with young children and their carers.
