Charles L. Martin has been representing Social Security claims since 1977, when he graduated from Mercer Law School. He is a partner at Martin & Jones in Decatur, Georgia. He has represented over 5,000 applicants in Social Security hearings and briefed over 1000 cases in district and circuit courts. He now focuses his practice on appellate and judicial papers for other lawyers. He is a previous president of NOSSCR and received the organization’s Eileen P. Sweeney Distinguished Service Award in 2008. He also wrote the Ombudsman legal office management software.

Charlotte, NC Vice President and Fourth and DC Circuits Representative George Piemonte George is the managing partner of the legal firm Martin, Jones & Piemonte, which has offices in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Decatur, Georgia. In addition to defending handicapped veterans before the VA, George handles Social Security disability matters at both the agency and court levels. He was one of the first North Carolina lawyers to be certified as a North Carolina State Bar Certified Specialist in Social Security Disability Law. He is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Western, Middle, and Eastern Districts of North Carolina, as well as the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and the United States Supreme Court. He served on the North Carolina State Bar’s Specialization Committee for Social Security Disability Law for the maximum number of terms permitted; he is a Past Chair of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice’s Disability Advocacy Section; he is the Chair of the Disability Advocacy Section’s Legislative Committee; he is the Chair of the Disability Advocacy Section’s Lawyers’ Assistance Committee; and he is the Chair of the Disability Advocacy Section’s PAC Committee. George holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Florida and a law degree from Nova Southeastern University.
