Course Overview
Dan’s new Giant Killer (GK) 2.0 course demonstrates the methods that have helped him become one of the best authorities in lightweight Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Dan, as we all know, weighs less than 130 pounds and has earned a reputation for himself by performing well in tournament absolute classes.
The GK 2.0 DVD collection contains several excellent methods for taking the back from guard, half guard, and a variety of other positions. He also rushes through the battle, completing it with some deadly leg locks and front chokes (see below for more info on techniques). The best part is that viewing the films is almost like putting yourself in the shoes of one of Dan’s pupils, who pay him over $250 per hour for individual sessions. Many of the films were shot in-person during his group and private lessons.
In addition, the course features a new “Black Belt Cheat Sheet,” a training aid that has been in the works for three years. It was created via interviews and research with Black Belt World Champions and is an excellent resource for improving training and competing. It includes training advice from Robson Moura, Marcelo Garcia, the Mendes Brothers, Jeff Glover, Augusto “Tanquinho” Mendes, and others.
Dan Faggella is a Brown Belt IBJJF No Gi Pan Am champion (2011). He is also an IBJJF Pan Am bronze medalist (2009), an IBJJF No Gi Pan Am silver medalist, and a NAGA and Grappler’s Quest tournament expert and absolute division winner.
He works with Alexandre “Soca” Freitas, the Abu Dhabi World Submission Grappling champion who was named the most technical fighter after winning gold in 1998. Dan is an academy owner and manages the BJJ curriculum at Black Diamond MMA as a teacher. He is also the first Ivy League Master’s Graduate who concentrated his master’s thesis (at UPENN) on the development of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu skills.
Dan is well known for his YouTube battle “Dan Faggella versus The Giant,” in which he taps out a 240-pound Division-1 wrestler in 12 seconds. That video may be seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBdTZC3FkXg. Dan has thousands of fans from all over the world who have joined his membership programs because he is one of the world’s most renowned authors and trainers of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for smaller or less athletic grapplers.
Enjoy!
