How the Class Functions
Lessons
You will receive a link to a class resource page when you register for Nice Guys Don’t Finish Last, They Rot In Middle Management. Each week after the course begins, a new lesson will be uploaded to the class website. The majority of the courses will be delivered in the form of a written “lecture,” from which you will be able to download and print the lessons and assignments. In addition, video and audio recordings will be used to enhance the courses.
The classes will provide information to assist you in better understanding the subject and yourself. They will be designed to help you use the material in very practical and feasible ways. Each will include discussion questions designed to encourage personal thought and conversation with classmates via the online forum. Homework assignments will assist you in applying the knowledge to your life.
Forums for Class Discussion
Each lesson will have its own discussion forum on the class resource page, where students may publish their replies and homework assignments. Students will be encouraged to read and comment to one another’s contributions.
The mutual support, modeling, and responsibility that such contact fosters will be a strong component of the course. Most individuals struggle to improve their life because they attempt to do so on their own with a restricted set of tools. The internet forums will show you that you are not alone and that your problems are not unique. They will operate under the premise that “what one man can accomplish, another man can do.”
The online forums will be open for 12 months after the program begins, allowing students to continue to encourage one another and keep in contact even after the session has ended.
Forum for Instructor Q&A
The session will also include an online Q&A forum where students may ask Dr. Glover questions about the courses. Dr. Glover will answer to these questions during regular office hours, at least twice a week.
Q&A Sessions in Real Time
Dr. Glover will lead two live, interactive discussion sessions in this course. The Q&A sessions will run around an hour and will give a place for asking any course-related questions. The date and time will be made available on the class resource page. If you are unable to attend the sessions, you will be able to submit questions ahead of time. The Q&A session will be videotaped and archived in the classroom library.
The Class Library
This class will contain a library where Dr. Glover will upload topic-related materials such as podcasts, videos, recorded interviews, book recommendations, and article links. This useful library will assist students in applying course learning and putting their intentions into action.
You will be able to work at your own speed, reading the lectures and posting to the class forum whenever you like. You will be able to engage at any time and from any location.
