Elizabeth McMurtry, DO, is an Emergency Medicine physician who also serves as the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education and Faculty Development at Pacific Northwest University in Yakima, Washington. Dr. McMurtry graduated from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa. In College Station, Texas, she finished her residency at Scott and White Memorial Hospital – Texas A&M University Health Sciences Center. Dr. McMurtry has conducted research and published in the fields of emergency medicine and pediatrics, and she has given numerous talks and presentations on her areas of specialization in medicine and medical education. She is a member of the Walla Walla Valley Medical Society, the American College of Emergency Physicians, and the American Medical Writers Association. Since 2016, Dr. McMurtry has been actively involved in item writing for the COMLEX-USA and COMAT tests, and she was elected to the NBOME Board at the 2018 December Annual Board Meeting.
