Description taken from the webpage
Creating an accurate risk model is fundamental to FX trading.
The forex risk management method you use is critical to your overall performance.
We explain how to establish position sizing using the major factors of risk modeling in the video below.
Obviously, your winning and losing percentages are critical to any trading strategy, but even systems with low winning percentages may be quite successful when the magnitude of your typical winnings and losses is considered.
Everyone enjoys huge victories, but the regularity with which these successes occur must be evaluated.
A strategy with a high success % is excellent, but it may not be particularly profitable if the trade frequency is so low that obtaining a respectable return is tough.
With various risk factors to account, every individual trading risk model might have many distinct combinations.
The main thing is to ensure that your risk modeling is appropriate for you and your trading objectives.
Many traders seek to adapt to the risk model of the system they are trading.
This is like to educating a tiger to be a vegetarian.
It is contrary to your nature.
The key to establishing a successful FX risk management system is reverse engineering the process.
Your system should be built around your risk profile, not the other way around.
You may not mind a succession of little losers while waiting for the home run transaction, or you may despise losing so much that this seems like agony.
You’d rather take one meal at a time, regularly edging over little wins. Forex risk management, like anything else worth doing effectively, is an ongoing practice. We wish to assist you in learning the fundamentals of risk management. This will help you learn more about not just your trading but also about yourself as a trader.
