This thorough eight-DVD package includes hundreds of jujutsu techniques taught by George Kirby, an early American jujutsu master.

Among the contents are:

GREEN BELT [6th kyu] Vol. 1

— Basic falls and blocking tactics are covered, as well as hip throws, wristlock takedowns, hand throws, nerve assaults, rear throws, drop throws, head turns, and shoulderlock takedowns. You’ll learn how to defend yourself against strikes, shirt grabs, chokes, bearhugs, headlocks, and handshakes.

Vol 2: 5th Kyu GREEN BELT WITH YELLOW STRIPE

— Neck throw, ankle block, outer rear sweeping throw, rear circle throw, wristlock takedown, corkscrew, shoulderlock comealong, sleeve drop-throw, wheel throw, elbow-roll takedown, armbar winding throw, knuckle press takedown, scissor choke, and side neck standing submission are among the techniques demonstrated. Additional defenses will be taught for strikes, wrist grabs, headlocks, club assaults, handshakes, bearhugs, chokes, shoulder grabs, and hair grabs.

PURPLE BELT [4th Kyu] Vol. 3

— The outer sweeping hip throw, armbar rear throw, stomach throw, armbar winding throw, wrist side throw, leg lift throw, inner rear sweeping throw, sleeve pivot throw, shoulderlock comealong, floating drop throw, body winding throw, thumb winding throw, inner sweeping hip throw, armlock takedown, lapel wheel throw, and a variety of submissions such as shoulderlocks and chokes are among the techniques demonstrated. Additional defenses for strikes, club assaults, pushing chokes, knife attacks, shirt grabs, wrist grabs, kicks, and headlocks will be taught.

Vol 4: GREEN STRIPE BROWN BELT[3rd Kyu]

— Quick-pull techniques, hand throw, winding armbar takedown, inner rear sweeping throw, wristlock comealong, leg-lift throw, elbow rolls, belt throw, forward finger throw, drop throw, rear circle throw, lapel wheel throw, wristlock and armlock comealongs, shoulderlock hip throw and reverses for koshi nage and tai-otoshi are among the techniques demonstrated. Additional defenses for knife and club assaults, wrist grabs, kicks, mugging attacks, rear nelsons, headlocks, and combo attacks will be taught.

Vol 5: [2nd Kyu] BROWN BELT WITH BLACK STRIPE

— The body-roll elbow strike, reverse pin techniques, kneelock rear throw, and reverse stomach throw are among the specific techniques demonstrated. Ground reverses include armbar, figure-four armbar, and kicks. Leg-lift circular throw, front baton throw, side baton throw, and inside forward throw are all baton/hanbo defenses.

Vol. 6: BLUE STRIPE BROWN BELT [1st Kyu]

— Chokes, two-man carries, and foot stomps are all examples of specific ground defenses. Mat reverses are used to illustrate counters for cross-body pins, headlocks, and armbars. The presentation of sutemi waza will help you improve this component of the art [executing methods from a formal sitting position] using many of the techniques you learnt in prior cassettes.

BLACK BELT [1st dan/shodan] Vol. 7

— In addition to the methods provided in the previous six CDs, Prof. Kirby teaches the final skills you will need to know to achieve the level of Shodan, or first degree Black Belt. This video will focus areas that will help you complete your training for 1st degree Black Belt. It will cover many gun and rope defenses, hanbo [30″ staff] and yawarra/koshi-no-bo [5-10″ stick] tactics, and particular responses for resistance to certain techniques.

Vol. 8: STREET DEFENSE— This video shows how methods may be tweaked and combined in novel ways based on the nature of the attack and your surroundings. This tape should be regarded an integral element of your Budoshin Ju-Jitsu preparation for Shodan. It will assist you in developing an awareness of your understanding of the art as well as how to cope with many assailants, defend oneself while seated in a chair, use a cane, and deal with other unusual scenarios.
