Because to longer lifespans and aging baby boomers, the number of persons 65 and older in the United States will more than quadruple in the next 25 years. As if wound care wasn’t already important to grasp, it will become even more necessary that your delivery of this complicated treatment is at its finest.
Skin and wound care become more difficult in the elderly due to functional changes and chronic disorders that accompany age, all of which contribute to senescence. Photoaging, skin rips, persistent or difficult-to-heal wounds, pressure injuries, incontinence linked dermatitis, malnutrition, and the frailties that accompany dementia and end-of-life concerns need that healthcare practitioners be prepared to tackle this challenge. That is exactly what this course will do! Learn how to swiftly recognize growing skin concerns and implement the best healing strategy available. Proceed with more confidence in your skin and wound exams and treatments, meeting standards of care while posing less of a legal risk.
