What exactly is a Mind Map?
A Mind Map is a graphic technique for representing ideas, using words, images, symbols and color. Tony Buzan, the creator of the concept of mental literacy developed the technique. Mind Mapping¨ is based on patterns found in nature and research on how we think and use our minds. You don’t have to be an artist to learn Mind Mapping¨. Anybody can do it. Mind Mapping¨ enables you to manifest your thoughts in a way that reflects the whole picture, capturing enormous amounts of information on one piece of paper.
Lana’s Mind Mapping course helps you to see relationships, connections and patterns in your ideas – thereby improving your efficiency.
“It’s exciting to see her take a concept like Mind Mapping¨ and make it understandable for children.”
Former CEO Apple Computer Inc
Learn from Lana Israel
At an early age Lana read one of Tony Buzan’s books about a learning skill – Mind Mapping¨. This method sounded great, but did it really work? Well, that year as part of her school science project, she conducted tests with her classmates on these special learning techniques. The project itself turned out to be really great, in fact teachers, students and parents came up to her with questions about this new method. These techniques gave Lana more free time to do the things that everyone likes to do. And these new skills helped her spend fewer hours studying, while getting better grades!
This technique can work for you as well. You too can get your grades and Ace your Exams! Mind Mapping¨ is a unique way of organizing your thoughts, it’s entirely different to the way you normally learn. This video will teach you the very groundbreaking technique originally developed by Tony Buzan.

How does this technique work?
In the past decade or so there have been tremendous breakthroughs dealing with the brain. The understanding of this incredible tool that we all possess has increased greatly. Besides gaining information about the functions of the left and right sides of the brain researchers have also determined that, on average, we use less than 1% of our brains – a surprisingly low figure.

Key Words
Realizing that 90% of the words printed in your books and spoken in lectures are non-key words, and once you gain the contextual meaning they supply, you only need to record key words when Mind Mapping¨. That means you save 90% of your time taking notes and you also save 90% of your time revising your Mind Mapped notes. Not only is the time factor beneficial, but you will actually remember more. When you take notes in sentences, the non-key words are interrupters and prevent you from making a strong connection between the key words.
Pictures
The pictures that you draw throughout your Mind Maps¨ can be as simple or as detailed as you desire. Color As with pictures, color also brings in the ‘right brain’. Not only does this help you recall information effectively, but also it appeals to your brain. Color is lively, fun, and exciting. Do you prefer watching TV in black and white or in color? Colors can also be used as a coding system. To do this, you will learn to use one color for each branch or for information related to a specific idea. This process creates more organization in your notes and helps you relate similar information drawn in the same color.
Study and Revision
The first step to studying smart is to create Mind Maps¨. On one page you can capture the essence of an entire subject. A chemistry Mind Map¨ that Lana made once captured half a year of information on one page while her friends went through three hundred pages of notes, front and back! Guess who spent more time studying? Not only was study faster for Lana, but far easier. The use of key words not only condenses information but also strengthens your recall by linking important concepts.
When you revise from your Mind Maps, you will find that the key words and pictures trigger those concepts and ideas, bringing back entire chunks of information in seconds. To review the same amount of material linearly would take hours in comparison to the minutes spent revising from your Mind Maps¨.
After studying it is important that you review. Most people think that as soon as you finish studying your recall steadily decreases over time. This is not so. Instead, recall increases ten minutes after studying. From that point on it begins its steep descent.
How do you prevent the drop-off in recall, especially if your test or exam is the next day? Simple! Quickly review your Mind Map¨ ten minutes after studying. This will keep your retention at a high point for another twenty-four hours. If you review again the next day for a few minutes, you will have high recall for another week. Just follow this pattern of reviewing at crucial points after studying to keep recall high. You should then Ace your Exams!
How to use Lana’s DVD
To get the greatest benefit from the video, you will be able to use it is a continual reference. Just because you have watched it once, doesn’t mean that you are finished with it. In fact, continual re-viewing enhances memory significantly. Treat the video itself like a Mind Map¨ and review it – or sections of it – at appropriate times, and you will keep what you have learned fresh in your mind.
