DescriptionLearn about yoga-based therapies that can help control the autonomic nervous system and how to use them for beneficial client outcomes.
Irina Diyankova, Ph.D., RYT-200, will provide an in-depth instruction on the concepts and practices of trauma-informed yoga, with a specific emphasis on chair yoga practices, yogic breathing exercises, and yoga nidra, or yogic sleep. This class also integrates trauma studies, somatic psychotherapy, and ayurvedic practices and philosophy. This curriculum will teach you the significance of nervous-system modulation in the process of psychological restoration.
Learn firsthand why institutions as different as the United States Army and the United States jail system have embraced yoga as an evidence-based strategy to treating PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
You will leave the session with the knowledge and tools to assess the advantages of incorporating trauma-informed yogic therapies into whichever kind of therapy you are presently practicing.
