Janet Smith began her insurance profession 25 years ago. She worked at Greenwich American Underwriters, Inc. as an account manager and managing underwriter for liquor liability. After four years of service, she moved on to help launch Bailey Special Risks, Inc., a company that focuses on professional liability, cyber liability, employment practices liability, and directors and officers’ liability, and sells it exclusively to independent insurance agents for their commercial clients. She has been active in numerous facets of the organization over the years, from account management to selling a variety of items. Janet had the opportunity to acquire BSR with two long-term firm partners in 2009. As BSR’s current President, she continues to advertise the company’s products, teach customers about coverage, and collaborate with carriers to keep BSR at the forefront of knowledge.
