Content:
The eighty-three moves of the Chen Style Taijiquan First Form are introduced on two instructional DVDs. Chen Style Taiji emphasizes martial arts characteristics and the proper balance of hard and soft, Yin and Yang. Fast and slow movements alternate, from an eaven and steady tempo to strong punches and kicks. This makes things difficult for both the educator and the learner.
Master Luo’s strong teaching history makes it simple to follow the motions throughout the whole piece. It’s a rare find among Taiji DVDs.
Disk One shows the whole shape and includes a slide show demo exhibiting movement angles and directions.
Disk Two has detailed instructions for each of the eighty-three motions, as well as the basic Chen style exercises. The lesson makes use of two camera viewpoints.
