Lauzon, Joe
Joe J-Lau Lauzon (born May 22, 1984 in Bridgewater, Massachusetts) is a professional MMA fighter. Lauzon was awarded WFL Grand Prix Champion in April 2006 after winning an eight-man tournament in which he defeated three opponents in one night. MassMMA.net selected Lauzon the 2004 Massachusetts fighter of the year. On September 23, 2006, Lauzon made his UFC debut against Jens “Little Evil” Pulver, the previous and last UFC lightweight champion. He won by KO in 48 seconds, an upset in which he was a 7-to-1 underdog.
Lauzon earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 2006. He is currently employed as a network administrator and has no intention of becoming a full-time boxer unless he becomes a championship challenger.
Lauzon competes in The Ultimate Fighter 5, which only features lightweights. He is playing for B.J. Penn’s side versus Jens Pulver’s team.
