DescriptionThe World Health Organization designated 2000-2010 as the “Bone and Joint Decade.” Rates of joint arthroplasty are predicted to quadruple by 2020. The increased demand for joint replacement surgery has resulted in significant breakthroughs in surgical methods and technology. These advancements allow patients to resume an active lifestyle, which was previously severely curtailed. For doctors, the concern is whether we are prepared to provide current and progressive rehabilitation for the growing joint replacement population. The “Baby Boomer” joint replacement patient has significantly greater expectations of their rehabilitation provider nowadays. They want to play on the floor with the grandchildren, ski, and trek.
This highly interactive video will provide you the evidence-based knowledge you need to address those frequently asked on-the-spot inquiries from our patients, such as “What should I not do?” or “When will I be able to hike or play tennis again?” Surgery, from traditional to cutting-edge, will also be scrutinized, as will evidence-based rehab and return to activity recommendations. This unique recording is a must-have for all professionals who work with total joint patients.
