Jonathan Gelber, M.D., M.S., obtained his medical degree from New York City’s Mount Sinai School of Medicine and a Masters degree in biomedical engineering from Columbia University. He received his orthopedic surgery training at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and his sports medicine fellowship at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic. He possesses a black belt in Shito-Ryu Karate, a blue belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, and is the creator of both FightMedicine.net and the Mixed Martial Arts Research Society, as a result of a lifetime interest in combative sports. He has contributed to various MMA websites and publications with articles. He currently resides in New York.
