In this course, you will look at a variety of documented fraud situations and identify the general control and application control flaws that led to each of these scams. You will be in a better position to mitigate fraud risk if you learn from these real-world case studies.

Tommy Stephens graduated from Auburn University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (major in Accounting). He received his Master of Science degree (Major in Finance) from Georgia State University in Atlanta in 1992. Tommy now has the designations of Certified Public Accountant, Certified Information Technology Professional, and Chartered Global Management Accountant.
Tommy has earned great expertise in a number of areas over his professional career, including:
Working as an auditor and technology consultant for an Atlanta-based public accounting firm; Managing a Cost Accounting team and leading an Internal Audit staff for a Fortune 500 corporation;
Working as the Chief Financial Officer for a multinational engineering firm; and founding and operating his public accounting firm, which offers accounting, tax, and consulting services to individuals and a range of small and developing enterprises.
Tommy started writing and presenting continuing professional education courses to accounting and finance professionals in 1995. He joined K2 Enterprises as an associate in 2003 and became a partner in 2007. He has taught on topics such as internal controls for small firms, technological strategies, computer hardware and software applications, tax strategies and compliance, and financial accounting standards and applications throughout the world. Tommy has delivered over 2,700 instructional programs to over 70,000 attendees across the United States and Canada over the last twenty-five years.
Tommy currently resides in Woodstock, Georgia, where he maintains a busy personal life with his wife. Snow skiing, fishing, jogging, and other outdoor sports are among his interests. Tommy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a former member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
