Pregnancy as a Risk Factor for Future Health
Dr. Gray will explore how the negative effects of a pregnancy influence the mother’s future.
Objectives of Education:
Summarize the important elements of an obstetric history as they relate to future health.
Distinguish the link between pregnancy problems and long-term health. Disseminate appropriate follow-up preventative treatment and screening techniques for women who have experienced pregnancy issues.
This activity was planned and carried out in compliance with the American Osteopathic Association’s accreditation standards and regulations (AOA). The American Osteopathic Association (AOA) has accredited the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association (AOMA) to offer osteopathic continuing medical education to doctors.
Kendra Gray, DO, FACOG is a board-certified OB/GYN and Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellow at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, where she also did her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. For medical school, she attended Midwestern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale. She is the OB/GYN clerkship director at A.T. Still University College of Medicine in Mesa and an adjunct faculty member at both her alumni college and the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Dr. Gray has performed award-winning research on a variety of women’s health problems and is currently working on initiatives to predict preterm delivery using uterine electromyography. She is especially interested in the execution of collaborative quality improvement programs including maternal trauma and maternal obesity. Her participation on the State of Arizona’s Perinatal Maternal Mortality Review Board provides her with a lot of motivation. She has had the honor of serving on the AOMA Board of Trustees as a local representative and, more recently, as a member at large. Dr. Gray has resided in Phoenix for the past 16 years with her husband, Jonathan, and their two children, Lydia, 9, and Roman, 4. She was born and reared in Cleveland, Ohio, but now calls Arizona home.
