Kim Saunders, MSN/ED, RN, CWON®, CFCN, has considerable experience as a wound, ostomy, and continence nurse in acute care, hospice, home health, and skilled nursing institutions. Kim evolved her career as a known expert in her industry to be able to more fully share her ideas as co-owner of WOC Consulting, LLC. In this capacity, she advises healthcare systems on a wide range of issues relating to wound, ostomy, and incontinence-associated dermatitis. Her expertise has been sought for a variety of specific initiatives, including advising standardization of wound care formularies and pressure-relieving device options, as well as a plethora of other procedures to standardize and enhance existing skin and wound care delivery. Her wound care experience extends beyond troubleshooting the most difficult patient wounds. It also involves knowledge of the growing importance of incorporating cost-effective treatment and reimbursement issues at the bedside.
Kim is a member of the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses SocietyTM as well as the Advanced Wound Care Society. She has traveled widely across the country to provide seasoned healthcare professionals with practice-changing wound care training. Kim is also the author of the second edition of the Wound Care Pocket Guide: Clinical Reference (PESI, 2017).
