She obtained her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Gonzaga University, and was on Law Review. Throughout her career, she has defended health care practitioners in malpractice and disciplinary matters. Prior to becoming an attorney, she acquired a BSN and worked as a registered nurse for nearly seven years at a big acute care medical institution. She also served as an assistant head nurse and charge nurse at this period.
