Lawrence Sands, DO, MPH and Donald Noah, DVM, MPH discuss the history of TB, its current revival, and its influence on global health.

Reduce the global effect of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex on human and animal health.
Distinguish the obstacles to TB prevention and control.
Evaluate evidencebased TB eradication efforts and strategies in both human and animal populations.

Dr. Lawrence Sands, a public health physician with over 25 years of experience, is committed to establishing healthy communities and motivating people to take action to promote and safeguard the health of everyone. He is currently a clinical associate professor at Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, having previously served as chief health officer for the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) in Las Vegas, NV, community health services director and biodefense preparedness and response medical director for the Maricopa County (Phoenix, AZ) Department of Public Health, and state epidemiologist and infectious disease specialist.

Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University
Dr. Donald L. Noah is the Director of Midwestern University’s One Health Center in Glendale, Arizona, as well as an Associate Professor of Public Health and Epidemiology in the College of Veterinary Medicine. In this first academic post, he is in charge of developing and teaching new educational courses to students from a variety of medical fields at Midwestern University. Dr. Noah, an early supporter of the One Health idea, conducts a wide range of academic tasks including teaching, mentoring, public speaking, and other types of institutional and/or extramural professional activity.
