Ferentz Institute of ScienceLisa Ferentz, LCSW-C, DAPA, has been in private practice for over 35 years and is a renowned specialist in the strengths-based, de-pathologized treatment of trauma. She gives seminars and keynote talks on a national and international scale, and she consults with practitioners and mental health agencies in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.
She has served as adjunct faculty at numerous colleges and is the creator of “The Ferentz Institute,” which is currently in its 12th year of delivering continuing education to mental health professionals and has graduated over 1,600 clinicians from her two Advanced Trauma Treatment certificate programs.
The Maryland Society for Clinical Social Work named her “Social Worker of the Year” in 2009. Lisa is the author of several books, including Treating Self-Destructive Behaviors in Trauma Survivors: A Clinician’s Guide, 2nd Edition (Routledge, 2014), Letting Go of Self-Destructive Behaviors: A Workbook of Hope and Healing (Routledge, 2014), and Finding Your Ruby Slippers: Transformative Life Lessons From the Therapist’s Couch (Routledge, 2014). (PESI, 2017). Lisa also does a weekly radio talk show, publishes blogs and articles for self-harm and self-care websites, and lectures on several webinars.
