01:08:39 chinese/ engl.Sub Liu Jingru – Cheng style Bagua Eight Palms He was born on july 5, 1936 in gaoyang county of hebei province, china.
He is now 85 years old and is the 8 duan of the chinese wushu duan wei systemanddeputy director of the Ba Gua Zhang Supervisory Committe and a member of the Beijing Wushu Association.
In 1957 he began to learn baguazhang and xingyiquan under Luo Xingwu, the disciple of Li Wen Biao – who is a student of Cheng Ting Hua, founder of the Cheng style Ba Gua Zhang.
Here is a demonstration and a breakdown of the eight palm changes of the cheng style of Bagua – one of the most famous.
The basic form (Tao Lu) is done in a field and the instruction in a studio.
Very clear movements and the teaching is quite lucid.
A nice form with sophisticated palm changes and a long stepping method.
Also, the general movements of the teacher, Liu Jingru, are well practiced, pleasant and professional.
A traditional sequence with possibly some more contemporary influence, but basically solid and respectable.
A great reference.
Enjoy
