Suicide can drastically upset survivors’ assumed beliefs about life, often traumatically undermining the very foundations of one’s assumed universe. While Post Traumatic Growth is a big subject these days, mental health clinicians have traditionally spent decades helping patients deal with trauma rather than concentrating on the client’s resilience potential. This recording will aid clinicians working with suicide survivors as they investigate three areas of impact that will lead to PTG. It will serve as a guide for clinicians as they assist survivors in navigating their way toward new sustainable frameworks of meaning by challenging their tacit assumptions about life, God, and the world around them. As a suicide survivor and psychotherapist, the presenter presents a unique perspective that will aid professionals in their work with suicidal clients and survivors of suicide.
