Margaret (Peggy) L. Bloom, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist and NCC certified counselor and Professor Emerita, Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology, Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Bloom is a nationally renowned expert in evaluation, DSM diagnosis, and counselor education. She is a former chair and board member of the Center for Credentialing & Education (NBCC), an elected fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA), and a previous president of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES). Peggy gives a unique multidisciplinary viewpoint to each course, having begun her career as a psychiatric nurse and receiving graduate degrees in nursing, counseling, and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology. She has authored several journal publications and delivered professional education workshops on evaluation, diagnosis, and counselor education all around the world. She has a private counseling practice in addition to her university appointments for many years.
