Dr. Martin Schwarze is a Clinical Professor of Medicine in St. Louis University Hospitals’ Division of Cardiology and the former Chief of Cardiology at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He presently works for the Barnes-Jewish Christian Medical Group.

Dr. Schwarze earned his medical degree in 1973 from the AT Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri. In St. Louis, Missouri, he did his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Normandy Osteopathic Hospital. He subsequently completed a cardiology residency at St. Louis University Hospital, where he taught echocardiology part-time for 15 years. Dr.Schwarze developed a private practice after finishing his fellowship, which lasted 32 years. His practice is currently a part of the BJC Medical Group in the St. Louis metropolitan region. The American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine has certified Dr. Schwarze in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease.

Dr. Schwarze has published multiple papers in the fields of echocardiology, congestive heart failure, and lipid treatment. He has given several national presentations and served as the program chairman for various cardiac educational symposia. Dr. Schwarze is a Master Fellow in the American College of Osteopathic Internists and a Fellow in the American College of Cardiology, and he has earned four “Educator of the Year” honors. He is also the former President of the American Heart Association’s St. Louis Chapter. He has won the Hugh McCollough Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Heart Association’s St. Louis Chapter, as well as a lifetime teaching award from Des Peres Hospital.

Dr. Schwarze admits to receiving speaking fees from BMS/Pfizer, Amgen, and Esperion.

Bryan Trimmer, DO, FACOI, FACC, FASCAI is a credentialed interventional cardiologist by the ACOI, ACC, and HRS, Heart Rhythm Society. Dr. Trimmer received his doctor of osteopathy degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center and completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Michigan. At Detroit Osteopathic Hospital, he earned a cardiac fellowship. Dr. Trimmer is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine. His practice encompasses cardiac, peripheral vascular, TAVR, and pacing treatments, as well as diagnostic and interventional procedures. He presently works at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, with Dr. Martin Schwarze, with whom he has worked for 35 years.
