Cultivating a Heart of Self Discipline at Home: The Disciplined Homemaker Course
30 Day Challenge from The Disciplined Homemaker
Do you ever wake up and feel disheartened as you glance about your house? Disappointed before the day even begins?
When you’re overloaded, it’s simple to overlook the problem – indefinitely. When you go into a room, the mountains of debris look overwhelming. Or you open the closet door and shiver at the prospect of clearing out the junk, despite the fact that you can barely push the door shut. It’s simple to lock the door, even metaphorically, and go away to do something more enjoyable.
Is this, however, making your life any easier?
Is it easier and less stressful to disregard an issue in favor of doing something that provides us comfort and enjoyment?
Most likely not. In fact, I’d venture to argue that ignoring an issue almost never solves it… It may potentially exacerbate the situation.
What if you didn’t have to be overwhelmed? What if you could live a self-disciplined life that brought order and tranquility into your home?
If you are frequently disheartened and overwhelmed by homemaking, you most likely lack self-discipline in other aspects of your life.
Self-discipline essentially means doing what you know has to be done even when you don’t feel like it. You may be disciplined in certain aspects of your life while lacking in others. The good news is that a disciplined heart can be developed.
The truth is that for many of us, messiness is simply a way of life. We have some poor habits. Bad behaviors that accumulate like paper clutter and mudroom shoes. Or perhaps laundry. Laundry piled up far too quickly!
The secret to overcome messiness is to develop positive habits. And so the formation of good habits – self-discipline – begins. I believe you can learn to be self-disciplined at home.
I’m here to assist you.
2:06
BEING DISCIPLINED IS HARD. BUT IT IS DOABLE.
Have you heard the expression, “The finest things in life are worth battling for?”
I’m sure you did. And guess what? It’s completely true.
What do you want to fight for?
Do you want a better life, one that isn’t as difficult? The type of life when you’re not swamped at home?
I understand how it seems like there’s no way you’ll ever get it together. I also understand how it seems that no matter how hard you try, nothing changes.
Where do you envision yourself in a year? Are you tired of looking at the same pile of junk on your kitchen counters? Still having trouble getting supper on the table and keeping the kitchen clean?
What if the decision you make today has the potential to transform your life?
The fact is that most individuals wish for a better life, whatever that may be, but they never achieve it. They are pleased to remain the same. must keep running the same race day in and day out.
It is not simple to live a disciplined life, but it is doable.
But you must desire it. You must be willing to put in the effort to change your life. I would never tell you it was simple. In reality, establishing new habits where poor ones have gathered like clutter on the dining room table takes resolve, discipline, and the determination to prioritize those changes.
With God at the core, people to help you, and small habits, you may live a disciplined life!
“Remember not previous things, nor contemplate ancient things.” Behold, I am doing something new; do you not see it springing forth now? I will construct a path across the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” 43:18-19 Isaiah
