Dr. Melissa Westendorf, J.D. Seminars and items that are related: Technology Wellness Center No. 8Melissa Westendorf, Ph.D., J.D., is the creator of the Technology Wellness Center and a clinical and forensic psychologist. She has worked as a clinician with adults and adolescents in the community and in correctional settings. Dr. Westendorf’s forensic practice focuses on evaluating adults and kids in the criminal justice system as well as in civil situations. As a digital wellness expert, she is committed to educating parents, children, adolescents, and adults about the intricacies of technology use and its influence on our brains, emotions, and interpersonal connections. Dr. Westendorf’s legal experience, along with her therapeutic background, enables her to assist with people who are dealing with the legal consequences of technology use.
Dr. Westendorf is a keynote speaker at academic institutions, parent organizations, corporations, and community groups, delivering preventative techniques and resources that educate people on how to regulate technology use in a healthy manner. Unplug! Raising Children in a Technology-Addicted World is her co-authorship. She has served on the American Psychological Association’s Legal Issues Committee and the Wisconsin Psychology Examining Board. Dr. Westendorf has served as an expert witness in high-profile judicial issues involving the psychological consequences of technology use. Her knowledge has been cited in numerous publications, podcasts, radio segments, and television shows. NPR (National Public Radio), Wisconsin Public Radio, and ABC’s 20/20 have all highlighted her.
